What’s in store for the weekend? Going to Lancaster, PA to catch Brinae Ali in Stomp. She’s part of the national touring troupe, which touches down just a couple dozen miles west of Philadelphia. Buy tickets here and I will see you there!

Jonifin Marvin of Outbreak Creative Group created this great video about last week’s Fourth Wall Arts Salon at the Mural Arts Program, featuring Keir Johnston and Khalil Munir.
The October 1 salon kicked off Mural Arts Month.

The re-dedication of Meg Saligman’s mural Common Threads takes place this Mural Arts Month. On October 19, 2011 at 2:30 PM at Broad and Spring Garden Streets. One of the figures in the majestic mural is dancer Khalil Munir. At the time of his portrayal, he was a student at the High School of Creative and Performing Arts.
In the intervening years, Munir has risen to prominence in the Philadelphia dance community, and is now working on his one man show.
Munir will perform at the Common Threads re-dedication. Come out to see his serious skills.

He is the Fourth Wall founder.

Join me and the Fourth Wall crew for a great lineup at our second annual Boutique Salon on Saturday October 1 at Mural Arts Headquarters, 1729 Mount Vernon Street in Philadelphia. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Join us for a stellar and varied lineup that draws on the best Fourth Wall has to offer. Here are a
few highlights: dancer Khalil Munir is a tap instructor at Temple University and wows audiences
with his hybrid moves that bring the best of jazz, modern and classical to the floor. Denise “Ms.
Misconception” Frohman is an accomplished spoken word artist who was recently invited to the
White House. And listen to the The Lloyd Alexander Trio. At age 23, Alexander founded the Philly-based neo-
soul band Aphillyation, with which he has performed throughout the city.
